Monthly Archives: August 2016

Walk this way

Monday was a hard day for me. These last two days have been much better. 🙂

I won’t lie. I’m bad at blogging. Lol. I’m trying to keep up with this and have fun with it like others I look up to. But a lot of times I just feel silly.

Anyway, the last day of August! I’m excited when September hits. I love getting into fall. I have lots of ideas for this fall! And I have new goals for September that I’ll talk about tomorrow!

I’m just gonna keep on walking. I know that at least I’m still going in the right direction!

Enjoy the last day of August!

🙂

Party hard

This week has been nuts. I did okay Monday and Tuesday with workouts, but food has been crazy. And I’m ready to get back at it.

We had relatives in town, so we took them places and basically ate out a lot. Quite frankly, that is fun. Trying new places and eating food you like. Not really thinking about what you should eat and all. But it’s left me bloated like crazy. Just haven’t been feeling good.

I’ve also still been feeling like a failure. A lot.

So instead of being all negative and letting my negative emotions get the best of me, here are my highlights of the week

On one of our dinners out, Brianna discovered she loved calamari! Pretty hilarious since she’s picky.

Pasta pasta pasta! But it was really good!

Another day we went here. Tom and chee. Pretty neat place!

Then we ended up at two different malls. We didn’t need to shop.  They did.

After they left, it was time to take Sadie in for her surgery. She got spayed, her hernia repaired, microchipped, and had two teeth pulled!

She was happy to see us the next day!

We also had to make a trip to school, to find out the teacher Bri will have for the year and then we went out for ice cream.

So it’s been a long week. And a splurge week. And I’m tired.

Here’s to a fresh new week! 🙂

Imperfect

I’ve been struggling with that. Feeling like the road is so long and nothing changes fast enough. So when I read that, I felt more motivated to just enjoy whatever the days have in store for me!

Completed 3 workouts today! At first I was going to sleep in, but miss sadiecwoukdnt let me! Lol. Good thing too, because it helped me get my goals accomplished for the day!

We now have relatives in town visiting, so busy busy with that.

Happy Monday! May you have lots of success this week! And take it day by day. 🙂 and have some fun with snapchat! 🙂

Walk for kids

Yesterday was a longgggg day. We participated in the rainbow connections walk for kids. Team eastern. We were the largest group and won the honor to take the flag out on the baseball field as the national anthem was sung.

This took place at a baseball field, in case you are wondering.

That said, things didn’t quite go as planned. We ended up in a downpour. I’m not sure if the game was cancelled or not, but we left early. It was a good time, though!

I am so pooped!

Garlic lover!

Okay, another Friday! And so many changes.

This is my last day babysitting. We have relatives coming into town for a visit and then my kiddo starts school. We also have sadie’s surgery coming up.

Decided to start all that out with a new hair cut. I got my bangs back. That said, it’s a flop lol. I expected to love it and I really don’t. So not much excitement there.

But that is after getting 2 inches cut off. 🙂 still long!

I’ve been obsessed with this garlic dip! I already ate through one jar in a couple days. It’s so yummy. Reminds me of grape leaves garlic dip.

These are frozen geek yogurt. They taste amazing and I normally hate Greek yogurt! Makes for a good guilt free treat.

And this is coming this weekend…

Plus I just ordered my Erin condren life planner. 🙂 so excited about that!

And…. Friday’s are yoga days! I definitely enjoyed that this morning!

This is just a quick and full of a lot post! 🙂

Happy Friday!

Bedtime blogging

Blogging in bed? Yes, i am!

Today was a productive Tuesday. I did Pilates in pajamas and did a new dvd I bought

I did the walk strong dvd and did the 35 minute lower half focused section. Legs,  baby.

I was dripping sweat. I worked hard. My legs are jelly. I literally was so sore I was laughing as I was trying to do my mundane daily activities. 😂

So worth it.

Had more work to do in the evening. On the plus side, saw a gorgeous sunset.

30 by 30

One goal I have, the one I’m working towards the most, is trying to lose 30lbs by the time I turn 30. I have about 4 months. I don’t want to be too focused on scale and numbers, so we shall see. If I stick to my other healthy eating and workout goals, we will see where it gets me. 🙂 but that is one of my motivations.

Started off my day with a workout and an advobar 🙂

Self care

I need to find better ways to take care of myself. I’ll be honest. I went off my anti depressant cold turkey back in June. I am happy to say that I didn’t struggle as much as I had in the past. I thought that was a good sign! And I’ve been doing okay.

That said, a couple weeks now have been very difficult. Today I’ve been crying most of the day. It takes my determination into the toilet. And I can’t have that. I have to find some way to be strong through these feelings and not give in to them. Because one thing I soil is turn to food. Today, I turned more to food. And I feel cruddy. From there it becomes a vicious and nasty cycle.

I will soon be looking into ways to properly deal with this and see what others do for self care and how they do it. I believe it’s very important and should help me be stronger when this hits me hard.

🙂 I believe part of this journey is about honesty. Not every moment is going to be perfect. We all struggle. So I will share the bumps too and ways I may be able to hurdle over them.

Foodie Friday

Nutrition is the main area that I struggle with. So I’m going to use inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest (and other places too) to try out healthier snack and meal options.

My mom really wanted to do this 24 day challenge that her coworker had done. Long story short, we signed up for advocare and did the 24 day challenge. I hit a few roadblocks, but otherwise rocked it and lost 9 lbs total in July. Now it’s all about maintaining the system and sticking with the good habits.

Every morning I have one of those spark drinks with my supplements. And then some mornings I either have a shake or one of the meal bars (or eggs).

It tastes as expected lol. That’s all I’m going to say. I definitely feel better over all, but I do have to vary everything or I get tired of it quickly.

Last night I made honey garlic chicken and had it for lunch today. So yummy! I swapped ketchup for BBQ sauce. Loved it!

TGIF. I’m looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow!
